As a South Asian artist, Aishah's work is deeply influenced by her experiences and observations, of the effects of colonialism on identity. Through the use of mixed media and various artistic practices, she aims to explore the complex theory of post colonialism, with a specific focus on the impact of colonialism, in relation to identity. Drawing inspiration from her travels to Arabian and South Asian countries, she seeks to unravel the intricate layers of this historical phenomenon and shed light on its enduring consequences.
Through her mixed media approach, she aims to create thought-provoking and visually compelling pieces that challenge preconceived notions and encourage critical dialogue. By exploring the effects of colonialism on identity, she hopes to provoke introspection and stimulate conversations about the enduring legacies of colonialism in South Asia and beyond.
As an artist, my work is a reflection of the myriad experiences and cultural encounters that have shaped my creative journey. Inspired by the colors, patterns, and techniques I encountered during my travels and rooted in the rich tapestry of my own heritage, my artistic style is a fusion of traditional Indian and Arabian artistry.
As an artist who loves to explore different mediums, I create vibrant paintings that reflect my passion for creativity. In addition to my painting projects, I also specialise in the intricate art of henna, adding a touch of tradition and elegance to special occasions.
